Professor and researcher on journalism, narratives and conflicts, Fernando Resende carries in his trajectory the experience of deepening questions, and always seeking other forms of rethinking the practice and the making of journalism. In this interview for Âncora, Resende discusses ways in which journalism is seen as fulfilling the function of mediating geopolitical conflicts. As a cultural-discursive practice, journalism, for him, can only be understood as the act of presenting facts and stories of a time in process, if it is able to interweave and problematize desires and interests. In his talk with Ana Lúcia Medeiros, the professor at the Fluminense Federal University attributes to journalism the role of questioning daily life, creating frictions and bringing up power games.
