Palavras-chaves: trombone, embocadura, técnica do trombone
Abstract: This communication is a partial fulfillment for the music education degree completed in
2017. A bibliographic review has been conducted focusing on the concepts and approaches
regarding the brass instrumentalist, especially the trombonist. Based on main aspects pointed for
their impact among brass musicians three authors have been chosen: Farkas (1989) Johnson (2001)
and Mello (2007). Finally, we concluded that the fundamentals are equal, and the only variations
identified were their approaches. Farkas was one of the first to write about the subject in a more
descriptive way, while Johnson represents a more recent literature.
