Abstract

The present review goes through the book Abaré Baré: the priest who made things “fly”, from Giovani José da Silva, that investigates the jesuitical theater of José de Anchieta, revealing its aesthetics and pedagogical nuances. The study, divided into essay, scene-by-scene outline, and dramaturgy, analyzes historical documents and highlights the aesthetic and cultural value of the jesuitical theater, despite the critics of the expression of dominance, consolidating its artistic relevance in the history of the brazilian theater.
