APLICABILIDADE E PROBLEMATIZAÇÃO DO ZONEAMENTO MORFOLÓGICO FUNCIONAL PARA CARACTERIZAÇÃO DE VIÇOSA-MG COMO UMA CIDADE MÉDIA

Abstract

The developed functions by medium cities has been suffered strongest transformations in the current socioeconomic Brazilian scenario. Amorim Filho (2005) recognized a pattern on the urban shapes of medium cities and elaborated a model of functional morphological zoning to distinguish the medium cities shapes from other types of cities.Thereby, this paper shows a problematization about the adaptation of this model in the city of Viçosa localizated at the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. It was used empirical data from field work as well as secondary data to understand the city in several ways.
