This introductory article aims to portray the uses of the water lorry in the fighting against drought in the Brazilian semiarid region, more specifically in the Paraíba state, based on the use of a conceptual derivation of the expression “antisocial technology” and its application in the semiarid region. Moreover, this study also addresses questions to investigate the reason for the still massive use of water lorry in the middle of the 21st century. At the same time, this paper discusses if the water lorry is a technology to mitigate the drought effects or a technological instrumental for antisocial use, in the exercise of power, attending the interests of the dominant oligarchy. Finally, the study considers this antisocial use of water as an instrument of alienation and territorial, economic, political, and social controls.
