The use of Geotechnologies in schools is very important to help in the development of skills and competences that involve spatial thinking. The manuscript discusses the use of these tools in Basic Education (EB) over time in reference publications to identify conceptual and methodological advances, verify which authors and institutions have published the most on the subject. The methodology covers a literature review through bibliometrics and systematic analysis from 1985 to 2021 to show the history and trends of publications related to the development of knowledge on this subject, as well as its gaps. The main results show that the growth of scientific production occurred from the 2010s. The USA is the country that leads in this production since the 1990s, covering the largest number of articles, authors and institutions that publish in this area. GIS and Geography Teaching are the most frequent terms in the keyword network formed with the analyzed articles. This analysis was important to point out the lack of research and indicate the implementation of Geotechnologies in Elementary Education so that this inclusion is earlier in EB.
