This research rigorously analyses the complex obstacles related to the preservation of biodiversity in the context of inadequate access to food, with a particular emphasis on the village of Djabula in the Matutuine area of Maputo, Mozambique. Djabula, a rural community strongly dependent on natural resources for survival, encounters numerous challenges that overlap with conservation initiatives. Land use disputes, worsened by population pressures and socio-economic inequalities, contribute to environmental deterioration and worsen food insecurity within the community. This abstract emphasises the need for comprehensive and contextually-aware ways to tackle these difficulties. The paper suggests that by promoting sustainable agricultural practices, strengthening local governance structures, improving access to necessary resources and services, and promoting environmental education, it is possible to create a more resilient and sustainable future for Djabula and similar communities worldwide.
