This study aims to analyze the dynamics of collective competences in cooperation networks and identify the constitutive elements resulting from the impact of embeddedness in higher education institutions (HEIs). Through quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional research, data collection and application of a questionnaire with closed questions, we sought to establish proportions and correlations to test the hypotheses initially proposed. The results of the research confirmed the constructed hypotheses: operational competences are directly related to operational performance developed in cooperation networks in which embeddedness corresponds to an antecedent in the relationship between operational competences and operational performance between HEIs and the companies involved in the projects at hand. be developed in the different proposed undertakings. It is concluded, then, that the relationships between HEIs and companies, by creating and sharing knowledge on the network based on dynamic and continuous processes of interactions and interrelationships, positively impact embeddedness. The contribution of the research is to reflectively discuss the impact of embeddedness as a determining and educational factor in the use of collective competences in the consolidation of partnerships and strategic alliances in cooperation networks.
