Abstract

The article analyzes the role played by women in a patriarchal, colonial, neo-capitalist, racist and necrobiopolitical society. The study's research problem was the following question: What are the historical, social, structural and political consequences left by gender violence to the detriment of women, who are mostly black, poor, young and without professional training? Based on the studies and research collected from the bibliography that supports this article, it becomes possible to state that women still suffer the most diverse violations of human rights, being left to fend for themselves by their husbands, partners, family members, friends and mainly by the State, which are silent and flawed when it comes to the direct or indirect death of women in our country. Corroborating this gender necrobiopolitical perspective, the case taken to the International Court of Human Rights of the young Márcia Barbosa, murdered in 1998 by former state deputy Aércio Pereira de Lima, will be analyzed throughout the article, who was only convicted in 2007. Regrettably, the State and society, supported by incoherent arguments and strategies, see countless Márcias becoming victims every day of a romanticized love that kills without mercy. Overcome by the silence of pain, they are far from combating the perversity of those who should protect them. The research method used was hypothetical-deductive, using bibliographic and documentary research techniques.
