Resumen

A palestra “The Early Literature of the North - Iceland”, aqui traduzida para “A Literatura Antiga do Norte - Islândia”, foi proferida pelo polímata vitoriano William Morris (1834-1896), em 9 de outubro de 1887, em uma reunião patrocinada pela filial da Liga Socialista (Socialist League) de Hammersmith da SL em Kelmscott House, Hammersmith. Nessa altura de sua vida, Morris já havia visitado a Islândia duas vezes (em 1871 e novamente em 1873), traduzido várias sagas do islandês para o inglês e escrito seu poema épico The Story of the Sigurd the Volsung and the Fall of the Niblungs (1876), uma releitura da famosa Lenda Nórdica dos Volsungos contada pela Völsunga Saga e por partes das duas Eddas.

Mestra em Letras - Interfaces entre Língua e Literatura pela Universidade Estadual do Centro-Oeste (UNICENTRO - Guarapuava, Paraná). Especialista em Ensino de Língua Inglesa pela Universidade Estadual do Norte do Paraná (UENP - Jacarezinho, Paraná). Licenciada com Dupla Diplomação em Letras - Português e Inglês pela Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR - Pato Branco, Paraná) e em Estudos Portugueses e Lusófonos pela Universidade do Minho (UMinho - Braga, Portugal) com bolsa CAPES/PLI (2013-2015). Doutoranda em Letras - Estudos Literários pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR - Curitiba, Paraná) com bolsa CAPES/PROEX (2021-). Foi pesquisadora visitante na Cardiff University (Cardiff, País de Gales-Reino Unido) com bolsa CAPES/PRINT (2022-2023) pela modalidade Doutorado Sanduíche e na Háskoli Íslands (Reykjavík, Islândia) com bolsa CAPES/PRINT (2024) pela modalidade Capacitação. É também graduanda em Licenciatura em História pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM - Umuarama, Paraná).
