Abstract

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the configurations of agricultural and livestock activities in Brazil and in the world are undergoing constant variations that converge with changes in the global neoliberal capitalist system. Based on the financialization of groups and blocs, together with agribusiness structured as a networked complex and the coalition of the latifundium with the agro, there was an abrupt change in the productivity of the territory, with the advance of agro-export agricultural commodities. This process has caused and causes a reorganization of the national space regarding agricultural production with the advancement of agribusiness over regional borders, so social, environmental and economic conflicts are constantly changing. In this sense, the present work has the purpose of understanding and addressing the advance of agribusiness in the Brazilian territory and especially in the last agrarian frontier of Brazil, in the region known as Matopiba, characterizing the relationship between the global neoliberal system and socio-spatial conflicts and economic in this macro region. The methodology used was an exploratory study through a literature review.
