BETWEEN CLARIFICATION AND CONSOLATION: THE SPIRITUALIST THEODICY AND THE CURE OF THE SOUL

Abstract

This work discuss the inteligibility of human suffering to understand the relationship between men and gods. Relations between religion and suffering are explained and legitimate by theodicy. On the scope of spiritualist religions in its variations, the spiritual attendance is based in the theory and practices of the spiritualist theodicy through procedures toward the assistance to persons in suffering. A research in spiritualists institutions was carried to evaluate the application of the theodicy spiritualist in a AE promoted by the studied institutions. The speech of religious agents rendering this service, allied to the systematic observation and analyzes of doctrinal texts pointed the clarification, the consolation and the abstraction of the suffering, as a mechanisms for the overcoming of such states.
