Resumo: Os últimos anos da década de 1950 e os primeiros da de 1960 marcam o início do romance de formação da noção de espaço vazio na poética de Peter Brook. Este artigo trata de algumas experiências teatrais realizadas por Brook, entre os anos de 1962 e 1968, e de algumas ideias formuladas pelo próprio encenador em dois artigos que escreve no início dos anos 1960 – A conexão de Beck e Feliz Sam Beckett –, que constituem esse romance. Abstract: The last years of the 1950s and early 1960s mark the beginning of the formation novel of the notion of empty space in Peter Brook’s poetry. This article addresses some of the theatrical experiences, performed by Peter Brook between the years 1962 and 1968, and some of the ideas, formulated by the director in his articles written at the beginning of the 1960s – The Beck connection and Happy Sam Beckett –, that constitute this novel.
