RELAÇÃO ENTRE VITAMINA D E ESTADO IMUNOLÓGICO: UMA REVISÃO DE ESCOPO

Resumo

A vitamina D tem sido objeto de considerável interesse além de seu  papel no metabolismo ósseo. Este nutriente chama atenção também como hormônio regulador do sistema imunológico. Os objetivos deste estudo foram realizar um mapeamento e síntese de evidências científicas recentes de ensaios clínicos sobre os efeitos da vitamina D na regulação do sistema imune. O modelo deste estudo é de revisão bibliográfica de escopo baseada na busca de artigos nas bases de dados MEDLINE e EMBASE, usando-se os descritores “vitamin D”, “immune system” e “Immune System Phenomena” publicados entre 2018 e 2022, conforme o padrão PRISMA. Incluiram-se 16 estudos que apontam um papel importante da atividade imune da vitamina D, destacando-se o efeito sobre células do sistema imune, impactos na resposta inflamatória e no controle de infeções e tumores, além de perspectivas futuras para a prática clínica.
