CONVERSATIONS WITH THOSE WHO LIKE TO TEACH: ÁLVARO VIEIRA PINTO AND PAULO FREIRE

This article was produced from a PhD experience, which brought us closer to the thoughts of two great representatives of the history of Brazilian education: Álvaro Vieira Pinto and Paulo Freire, referring to the following works: Seven lessons on Youth and Adult Education and Education and Change, respectively. This choice is justified because they are authors who discuss educational concepts throughout the history of education. Thus, our essay seeks, based on the fostered dialogues, to explain some concepts that permeate Brazilian education, exceeding the time limits of these authors, as they remain in our reality. To achieve the objective of our essay, we analyzed the concept of education and training, from the point of view of Álvaro Vieira Pinto, and presented an approach on the professional's social commitment to society, and education and the process of social change, in Paulo Freire's work. To this end, we conducted a bibliographic review of these works.
