Abstract

SARS-CoV-2 is a virus that causes respiratory disease, which may result from asymptomatic infections to severe conditions. Due to pandemic, declared by World Health Organization, the construction industry becomes necessary to perform maintenance and construction operations of essential works, and therefore requires specific attention so it wouldn't contribute to the virus spread. The study addressed the guidelines for the works operation to develop a tool to control the virus spread in construction sites. A systematic review of literature was made by the PRISMA method, as well as an analysis of regulations regarding disease monitoring, then, a checklist with recommended safety measures for construction sites was created. The tool proved to be compliant with the “5s” workplace organization method, and has potential to assist managers in the implementation of strategies for living with SARS-CoV-2 It also demonstrated the importance of Occupational Health and Safety for risk management.
