This work offers a review of a book, a collection, which discusses a not often explored object in the social sciences: artisanal work. The book is of interest to researchers, scholars and even political activists involved in discussions on the concept of work. The chapters deal with different trades through different theoretical approaches that face the challenge of dealing with novelties in the world of work. The purpose of the book is to rescue and record professional trajectories based on trades through the reports of experiences and challenges faced by the respective workers. The methodology used by the authors of the chapters is: bibliographical and documentary research, interviews and reports, as well as aspects in the subjects' memories. The chapters make a historical recovery of the trades treated, the current conditions in which they find themselves, the relations they maintain with the modernization processes that affect the economy, the learning processes and, still, a little of the perceptions and memory of professionals who exercised their crafts.
