Abstract

The interest of this work is to present what has been happening with public youth policies after the impeachment of President-elect Dilma Rousseff with the 2016 coup. To achieve this goal, we conducted a documental research based on the reading of policies developed for this public during the 13 years of Workers' Party government. Likewise, we carried out an analysis of the official pages and documents published by the Temer and Bolsonaro governments to understand what measures were intended to meet the demands of the country's young population. The results of the study demonstrate a change in the route by which  these policies were conducted, especially considering the scenario of attacks on social rights by the austerity policies developed in Brazil by right and extreme right neoliberal governments. In this sense, we highlight the structuring actions that allowed social participation to be the hallmark of previous Brazilian youth policies.
