Marxist feminism and psychology: the reproductive work in shaping women’s saubjectivity

Abstract

This study is characterized as an integrative literature review, aimed to discuss the concept of reproductive work worked in Marxist feminism and how the naturalization of this work affects the concrete and subjective life of women and, therefore, needs to be considered in the analyzes and interventions in the fields of psychological action, understanding the different ways that this exploration is pervaded by the categories race and class. The data collection took place in February and March 2021, in the SciELO and Google Scholar databases. Fifteen studies were selected, from which the thematic axes were extracted: naturalization of reproductive work and consequences in the concrete and subjective life of women. It was found that the topic does not have many discussions in the literature, mainly in the area of ​​Psychology, and those available are relatively recent. It was concluded, from what was found, that reproductive work, paid or unpaid, has consequences for women that cannot be disregarded and the professional of Psychology, based on the code of ethics of the profession, needs to think about forms of intervention that understand the root suffering and can assist in raising awareness and forming autonomy.
