This article analyzes how the changes made to labor legislation in 2017 had a negative impact on working conditions and on the union struggle of an important Brazilian public company, Correios. Based on empirical research in which we analyzed official company documents and interviewed workers and union leaders, we identified an increase in the number of outsourced workers, who perform functions similar to those of workers hired directly by the company, but without the same rights and in much more difficult conditions. precarious. In addition, we observed a growth in the hiring of self-employed workers, especially postmen, who carry out their activities contracted as legal entities, in a similar way to the 'uberized' work format. These trends not only contribute to the precariousness of the category's working conditions, but also weaken the union struggle, as they pulverize and fragment workers.
