The Relationship Between Family Disorder And Community Order: Reflections Of The Application Of The Principle Of Fraternity From The Five Wounds: A Novel, By Kirstin Valdez Quade

Abstract

This article, carried out by the interrogative and propositionic methods, deals with the contributions of the principle of fraternity as a strategy for strengthening family bonds in the relations of balance between work and family in the context of social isolation. The research problem can be summarized in the following question: is it possible to verify, both at the theoretical level and with a more practical contribution (from the principle of fraternity) whether there is a relationship between the disorder experienced in the family context and the provoking reflexes of disorder in the political community? Two hypotheses were formulated to answer it: (I) there is a relationship between family disorder and the disorder experienced in the community and that this disorder can be attributed – parallel to the causes investigated by sociology, psychology, pedagogy and other sciences – to a previous weakened conception of family bonds; and (II) there is a relationship between the disorder experienced at the personal level and the conception underlying marriage and family relationship, a conception that tends to perceive bonds as breakable. The article concluded by the affirmative answer of the question formulated in the problem and proposed the principle of fraternity as an interpretative paradigm to understand and strengthen family bonds.
