New Challenges in Conducting Scientific Dissemination in Contemporary Times

Abstract
The essay discusses the challenges of Scientific Dissemination/Popularization in light of the transformations brought about by Digital Information and Communication Technologies, particularly social networks. Initially, it presents a brief historical overview of Scientific Dissemination/Popularization, emphasizing its importance in democratizing scientific knowledge and bringing science closer to the public. The essay then examines cyberculture as a hypercomplex scenario in which media integration redefines the relationship between knowledge producers and consumers. In this context, SD faces the challenge of adapting to demands for accessibility and interactivity without compromising the depth and reliability of content. Practices of retextualization and recontextualization in SD need to be investigated in the context of new media to understand and assess whether adapting to the logic of fragmentation compromises the ethical and pedagogical integrity of SD or if it can be strategically employed to broaden the reach of science.
