Abstract
Objective: To verify the prevalence of musculoskeletal issues among professors and administrative staff working in a federal university in the city of Pelotas / RS. Material and Methods: the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire was used to determine the location and presence of pain in the previous year and previous week. Results: In the previous year, the most affected regions were the knees (54.6%), neck (48.5%), lumbar spine (42.4%) and shoulder (33.3%). Regarding the previous week, there was a predominance of pain in the spine (21.2%), thighs and neck (18.2%) and knees (15.2%). Conclusion: professors and administrative staff from a Physical Education School have high frequency of musculoskeletal issues, regardless of the anatomical region studied. The prevalence found has raised concern, given the disabling nature of pain and the consequences upon the individuals’ health. DESCRIPTORS Faculty. Workers. Musculoskeletal Pain.
