WAITING ROOM AS A TOOL FOR HEALTH EDUCATION IN PRIMARY CARE
Abstract
Introduction: The “Pró/PET-Saúde” is a project developed by the Ministry of Health which aims to integrate education and health for better training of professionals in this area. “PET Rede cegonha” is one of the axes of this project. It enables the execution of various activities involving users of the Family Health Units, and among the activities is the waiting room. The uses of the waiting rooms have been a great tool for the development of educational activities in the Family Health Units. Material and Methods: This study aimed to describe the experiences of UFPB nutrition students participants of PET Rede cegonha in the waiting rooms activities. This is an experience report where activities were held addressing issues: proper food hygiene, prevention of diseases associated with women and the importance of eating fruits and their properties. Results: As a result, we see the community interest by thematic exposed. The waiting room has established itself as a space for health promotion with users and to improve the bond, guided by the exchange of knowledge between students and users in a collective construction of knowledge in health. Conclusion: Thus, the proposed Waiting Room proved to be a good tool for health education of the community to realize through greater involvement of users' satisfaction in learning more about these topics can contribute to their health and their families.
