HEALTH PROMOTION IN GROUPS: ANALYZING RESULTS OF THE TEACHING AND EDUCATION PROJECT IN HEALTH

Abstract

Health promotion must be interpreted as a fundamental action to improve life habits of a population. By means of this research, an analysis of the results of the Project named "Teaching and Education in Health: a new vision of the academic formation allied to the health promotion in the community" was done. It was possible to follow the development of their activities in schools, in Family Health Strategy and Basic Unities; we also observed if their action reach the health promotion and disease prevention objectives; other points evaluated were the improvement in life habits, if the chosen themes to the activities were decided among the participants and also to know which was the satisfaction degree of them in relation to the developed work, demonstrating the importance to evaluate projects and programs that improve the life quality of the population. This research is qualitative and quantitative, and had 10 participants interviewed, in two stages, who answered a questionnaire that was applied before the activities, with a month gap between the two. We identified that these actions are reaching their objectives of health promotion and disease prevention by means of health education. There were improvements in the daily habits that influence the life quality in great part of the interviewed people. The theme of the activities was chosen or influenced by the leaders that represent them, as community health agents and teachers. The satisfaction level of participants in relation to the work developed was considered very good. Only by evaluating results, faithful data, we could follow the projects or programs and do the activities that promote health in the community.
