NEAR TO THE WILD HEART OF A CURRICULUM
Keywords:

The book “Currículos: teorias e políticas”, by Marlucy Alves Paraíso, is a fundamental work for understanding the diverse theoretical approaches and political debates surrounding the field of curriculum studies in Brazil. The author does not limit herself to a simple overview of theories but articulates them with educational policies, demonstrating how curriculum conceptions are intrinsically linked to power disputes and the societal project one aims to build. Comprising an introduction, eight sections, and a conclusion, the work presents traditional curriculum conceptions, moving through critical and post-critical theories, while interspersing her considerations on state-sponsored guiding documents, such as the BNCC.
