Abstract

The present work constitutes an experiment of method of analysis, inspired by Lévi-Strauss, but having as main theoretical reference the René Girard’s mimetic theory. The first part resolves some methodological issues resulting from the attempt to bring these two authors together and the type of material translated. The second presents the narrative to be analyzed, as well as its results. In the third, I conclude with some considerations about how the narrative symbolizes the narrated event. The thesis is that the version of the death of Horse-Face is a text of triple persecution, where different moral dispositions compete to assert themselves about the object of the narrative.
