(RE) CONNECTING PEOPLE AND THE SCHOOL LIBRARY IN PANDEMIC TIMES

Abstract

This study is a case report of the participation of librarians from different states in Brazil within the scope of the Reading Connections Extension Course at the School Library, conducted in the distance mode, mediated by computer. In the context of the course and course and the interactions experienced in the activities carried out, inspired the idea and the initiative to collect the speeches, words, expressions and perceptions of the participants, reflecting in moments of emotion, bonds of affection, virtual hugs replacing the absence of touch, of approximation by technologies, suppressing geographical distances in times of isolation, fear, threat, loss of freedom, mourning, among other feelings. By using aspects of discourse analysis reframe the participation of most of the subjects who expressed in their voices how much the pandemic has an impact on people's lives and on the actions they take in the school library. The role of librarians in these pandemic times is necessary for library doors to remain open, beyond the physical space, providing mediation, interaction, the use of technological tools, accessibility and sharing among people.
