analysis of international scientific production and future directions

Abstract

The present study seeks to investigate and characterize research on the topic of emotional intelligence, based on the analysis of articles published in the last 11 years, covering the period from 2011 to 2021, in journals indexed to the international database Web Of Science, in the areas of psychology and management. For this, the bibliometric approach was used. The results revealed the identification of the main authors who research the topic, main journals that published on the topic, universities in which the authors are associated, methodological procedures of the studies found and, finally, it was possible to establish some future directions for other researchers. Thus, from these identified characteristics it is possible to have a better understanding of emotional intelligence and the factors that are positively associated with the theme. Furthermore, it is hoped that this study can serve as a guide for other researchers on the main aspects involving emotional intelligence, as there is an understanding that individuals' emotions interfere positively and negatively in their behavior.
