Discussions about the Aspects of Sackbut Ongoing Performance Practice
Resumo: O estudo discute a necessidade do conhecimento da musicologia histórica na prática atual da sacabuxa. Observando as diferenças físicas entre os instrumentos moderno e antigo e aspectos musicais como sonoridade e articulação, são discutidas as possibilidades de adaptações nas réplicas em si e na técnica moderna com o objetivo de encontrar um equilíbrio estético adequado no uso atual da sacabuxa.

Abstract: This study discusses the demand for Historically Informed Performance (HIP) knowledge in the current practice of the sackbut observing the physical differences and acoustics between the modern and the early instruments. It also focuses on the sonority, articulation, and the possibilities of adaptations in its reproductions as well as how it relates with modern performance practice, in order to asset an adequate aesthetic balance in the current use of the sackbut.
