Abstract

This article seeks to investigate incidences of female resignification as a sign/impression in creations of imaginaries forged from the perspectives of female subjects. For this it employs the methodology of interpretative film analysis (VANOYE; GOLIOT - LÉTÉ, 1992) of the films Girls Life, Dir. Helena Solberg and The Second Mother, Dir. Anna Muylaert, pre-selected because of the resignifications that affect the imaginary of the principal characters. Thus, it is observed that these possibilities of reframing the feminine as a sign contribute to the elaboration of subjectivities for the meanings of the feminine. This allows us to conclude that it is possible to deconstruct/reconstruct and/or reconstitute the feminine as a sign in the imaginary of culture and thus to interfere in the construction of experiences for female subjects from a socio-historical and cultural perspective.
