FREEDOM, HOPE AND RESPONSIBILITY: AN INITIAL DIALOGUE BETWEEN DUSSEL, BLOCH AND JONAS ON THE QUESTION CONCERNING TECHNOLOGY

Abstract

From the Latin American perspective, presented by Enrique Dussel, we will make an introduction to his Philosophy of Liberation, seeking to relate it to two other thinkers: Ernst Bloch and his work 'The Principle of Hope' and Hans Jonas and his 'The Imperative of Responsibility'. Against the background of the social, political and economic inequalities experienced by most of the Latin population, we have in Dusselian philosophy an effort to equate these problems in the light of otherness. These elements of otherness also exist in Bloch's and Jonas's philosophy, the first being more present in Dussel's thinking. We intend to show how the bridge between Dussel / Bloch is made and how we can insert the Jonasian Responsibility theory within this project of liberation, starting from the problematization on the question of technique.
