Asking about the meaning and the concrete role of Philosophy teaching in High School, at a time when this discipline, which has just arrived at the curriculum, is already threatened to leave it, it is necessary to show the justifications already which debated to the framework of required subjects. It is argued here that one of the tasks of Philosophy teaching is to promote the students' mental extension. This pretension requires appropriate methodologies, such as the proposal presented in this text of debates, in a didactic sequence that would occupy an entire two- month period, around the theme of freedom. This experience elaborated as a proposal and tried out as experience, represents in itself the exercise of philosophy, a political position and a professional improvement.
