Poucos pensadores contemporâneos tem se deparado com um destino tão estranho quanto Bruno Latour. Em certas partes do mundo acadêmico, ele é um reconhecido popstar. Sua teoria do ator-rede tem inspirado centenas de trabalhos realizados por animados seguidores na sociologia, antropologia, estudos da ciência, e mesmo as belas artes (fine arts).
