This article aims to analyze how disciplinary power directly affects the sexualized body of the individual and what are the implications of this reality in the contemporary world. For this, Erich Fromm will be used as theoretical foundation, with the objective of analyzing the emotional implications related to the development of capitalist society and especially, the books of Foucault: Watch and Punish (1999) and History of sexuality: the will to know, ( 1977). Through this study, it was possible to realize that too much concern with the body present in contemporary society denotes the imperative of the sexualized body, the result of the exercise in the domain and control performed by society over the individual. This is not the result of centralized power, but rather of peripheral control, in which society itself structures patterns of conduct assumed by its constituent subjects.
