MANAGEMENT, LAW AND PARTICIPATION IN THE BRAZILIAN HEALTH SYSTEM
Abstract
Objective: To discuss management, law and participation in the Brazilian Unified Health System (BHS), in light of the democratic state. Material and Methods: The methods used are of critical nature, based on experience and literature review. It is developed an essay that combines management, law and participation in the BHS. Results: The findings point to the (i) responsibility of the state government in ensuring social rights through universal public policies; (ii) responsibility of the state government for the management teams; (iii) political sense of the health system; (iv) conception of law as a social-historical achievement; (v) health and quality of life of citizens as acting subjects and aware of their rights and duties; and (vi) participation in health by means of debates and initiative to solve intersectoral problems of the community. Conclusion: We conclude that these results need to be constantly revisited and deepened, but especially put in practice in the BHS. DESCRIPTORS: Health Management. Health Law.
