RENOVATION OF A STUDY CENTER OF A PUBLIC MATERNITY UNIT: PROPOSALS BY THE EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR HEALTH WORK, AXIS OF PERMANENT EDUCATION
Abstract
Initial considerations: The teaching-service integration shortens the relationship between health services and academia, based on a collective work that also includes managers and users. The Candida Vargas Institute (CVI) consists of a learning scenario for various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in João Pessoa, and its study center plays an important role in this context. Objective: This study presents propositions suggested by the PET Program (Education Program for Health Work), Axis of Permanent Education (PE) for the renovation of the CVI Study Center. Methods: This article presents the experience developed in the CVI since August 2012, together with the PET Program “Cegonha” Network. We carried out actions raising a reflection on the working process in that unit by means of workshops called "Workers Meeting" on the issue of humanization. Results: As a result, it was suggested the creation of two committees: 1) Education in health; 2) Teaching-Service integration, in order to strengthen the organizational structure of the study center, seeking strategic actions to enhance the formative processes of the institution. These committees are being structured including many actors. Conclusion: The changes in practices of managers and healthcare professionals require a reflection on the working processes and concepts. Thus, it has been possible to place the debate on the construction of new training processes in the routine of this institution, oriented by the perspective of permanent education.
