PERMANENT EDUCATION FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES (NCD)

Abstract

Introduction: Chronic Non-communicable Diseases are the leading causes of death in Brazil. Thus, there is a need to train health professionals on how to manage disease prevention and humane care towards those who are diseased. Given this background, this article aims to report the experience lived by actors engaged in Family Health PET and Federal University of Paraíba Health Care Networks, as part of a Continuing Education activity in Verdes Mares Integrated Family Health Unit. Reporting Experience: The activity of Continuing Education was held at the workplace, using active pedagogical practice methodologies based on the dialogue between the health agent and the workshop facilitators. The participation of those who were involved, sharing of knowledge, ideas and learning through questioning of situations inherent to the subject, were encouraged. Comments: Through this activity, it was possible to establish a relationship with the health agent, be aware of the needs of that territory, encourage reflection in the team, provide learning in the service and share information and scientific knowledge on the subject, all together allowing changes in the practices of Primary Health Care. The activity of Continuing Education in Health focused on NCD provided room for dialoguing, sharing knowledge as well as for creating opportunities for reflection to solve local issues and improve the health of the population.
