Abstract
Objective: This study aims to report the experience of the Cervical and Breast Cancer tutorial group on the Pink October Campaign in family health units in the cities of João Pessoa and Cabedelo, Paraíba. Reporting Experience: When the activities of the tutorial group began, by September 2013, the cities of João Pessoa and Cabedelo were in the preparation phase of the Pink October Campaign. In this context, the tutorial group planned a proposal including health education actions on the following themes: cervical cancer and breast cancer, body awareness, healthy feeding habits and functional food for cancer prevention. The activities combined dialogued expositions making use of videos, posters and serial albums, round tables and activities for the interaction, perception and physical awareness, besides the distribution of informative leaflets. The tutorial group was responsible for elaborating the textbook to put these activities in practice. Comments: The developed activities contributed with the actions of tracking and early detection of breast and cervical cancer proposed by the government in these cities. The effective participation at the Pink October Campaign as the initial activity of the PET project turned into an important strategy for the insertion of students in the sceneries of practice in order to establish bonding between them and the preceptors, as well as to provide a sensitive approach in relation to the theme developed by the tutorial group.
