THE INTERFACE SELF-ASSESSMENT IN HEALTH OF TEACHERS AND THEIR PREPARATION FOR THEME APPROACH AT SCHOOL

Abstract

Objective: This study was performed in order to analyze the knowledge about health of physical education teachers and the implication of these to take care of their own health, as well as to address the theme in the school field. For this, it was necessary to identify the risk factors for the development of chronic degenerative diseases (DCD); Evaluate the health and knowledge of teachers; Evaluate your preparedness to carry out observation/guidance on school health. Material and Methods: this is a descriptive, quantitative diagnostic research. The sample all teachers (17) working in State schools in a city in the Northwest of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. For data collection were used two questionnaires. For the statistical analysis of the data we used the SPSS 10.0 program. The data were processed through the descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation). The association between ordinal variables was obtained by Pearson and linear correlation between the categorical variables has been used the Chi-square with significance p < 0.05. Results: it was found that the teachers autoavaliam your health positively, not present risk factors determining the onset of chronic diseases, has a good knowledge about these, his risk factors and prevention, but do not feel sufficiently prepared for the thematic approach health in school. Conclusions: knowledge of the teachers are not decisive for the thematic approach health in school. This pervades through continuing education in order to broaden the articulation of knowledge with pedagogical action. DESCRIPTORS Health. Teachers. Self-assessment. Health at School.
