Abstract

Objective: To determine the compatibility of the standard resolution of Guidelines of the College (RDC) / National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) nº 50/02 in the dental clinics of the Federal University of Paraíba, João Pessoa, and assess the degree of knowledge of the cleaning staff. Material and methods: From October/2008 to fevereiro/2009 were evaluated six dental clinics through a script with variables related to ergonomics and biosafety, the establishment of plants concomitantly low of clinical parameters. Officials of cleaning out a questionnaire on the degree of knowledge and working conditions, under the terms of biosecurity. Results: There are deficiencies in the scheme of distribution of dental chairs and sinks, inadequacies in the ventilation system and the number of dental equipment is higher than the size of the clinics, the professionals of cleaning service providers are not able to exercise their activities in correct. Conclusion: The dental clinics examined not meet standards for the construction of a clinical conference, so it is hoped, through this work, to have guidance to dental surgeons, managers and architects in the organization correct the operative area, as well as contribute to the adoption of bio-security measures by the cleaning staff.
