TEACHING OF PHARMACOLOGY IN THE UNDERGRADUATE COURSE IN NURSING: IMPLICATIONS FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF DRUGS AND RENAL DISEASE

Abstract

This study had as a central theme in the teaching of Pharmacology, Graduate Course in Nursing. It was a study done at the Federal University of Paraiba (UFPB), located in Joao Pessoa - PB, with the purpose of analyzing the teaching of Pharmacology at the Graduate Course in Nursing, UFPB. To obtain the results were followed ethical principles inherent in the resolution 196/96, of the National Health Council, where he sought investigate the knowledge of students, who participated in the Supervised Stage II, in the context of the administration of medicines and cardiovascular kidney. Data collection was subsidised by type of instrument questionnaire. For the analysis of data was used for technical analysis of the content proposed by Bardin. Results indicate that the teaching of the discipline of pharmacology at the Graduate Course in Nursing appears to be inadequate, particularly, as regards education on drugs most widely used in daily hospital (cardiotônicos, diuretics and vasodilators). They also show the need for reflections on the important process of education it is seen that the nurse is the professional responsible for the direct administration of drugs that make up the clinical treatment of clients hospitalized.
