Social Representations and Phonoaudiology in Primary Care on Public Health

Abstract

Objective: identify the social representations about the speech therapist and his participation in the teams built by integral professionals of the most minimum team of health. Material and Methods: consist of an exploratory study obtained in a research carried out with professionals that act in basic units of health in João Pessoa – PB. The data were collected from interview structured and analyzed by using the ALCESTE 4.8 software. Results: the results aim four classes or categories of analysis, such as: descriptions about the activities of the speech therapist; participation of the speech therapist in the multiprofessional team; justifications for enclosure of the speech therapist in the basic attention of health; partner of the users’ service. Conclusions: It is observed They observed the physicological implications involved in the elaboration of the knowledge, while the whole character, which function of orientation of the behaviors drives the subjects to the elaboration of the meanings, connected to the participation of the speech therapist in the basic units of health, produced by those who act in the service of basic health attention.
