Abstract

Objective: to analyze the impact caused by social distancing in the sexual life of heterosexual and non-heterosexual individuals. Methodology: this is a descriptive, cross-sectional and quantitative study, carried out through an online questionnaire with 807 people with active sexual life and over 18 years of age. Binary logistic regression was performed using the odds ratio with a significance level of 5%. Results: it was observed through the sample presented that the majority were women (68.52%), white (50.92%), postgraduates (27.13%). Both groups mostly did not break the social distance to have sex (70.13%). Sexual life was affected by the pandemic (54.89%), with a decline when reaching orgasms that occurred in a good part (56%) of sexual intercourse before the pandemic in both groups and during the pandemic (38%), noting few times the feeling of pain during or after sexual intercourse during the pandemic period (73.35%) and both groups reported changes in their sleep pattern during the pandemic (79.05%). The non-heterosexual group had their sex life more affected than the heterosexual group during the pandemic. Conclusion: it is concluded that, even the pandemic causing different impacts, we realize that there was a considerable number of people who had their sex life affected by the pandemic regardless of sexual orientation.
