Abstract

Objective: To describe the profile of requests for consultations and examinations ambulatory before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methodology: This is a quantitative, descriptive study, with a cross-sectional design, carried out in the Sanitary District VIII (DS VIII) of the city of Recife-PE, whose object of study was the requests inserted in the National Regulation System (SISREG), for Primary Care during the first semester (January to June) of the years 2019, 2020 and 2021. Results: During the study period, a total of 172,549 requests entered in the SISREG were counted, of these 77,914 during the first semester of 2019, 33,799 in 2020 and 60,836 in 2021. The medical specialties identified as the most required in 2019 were: Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Surgery and Cardiology. In 2020 they were: Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Dermatology and Surgery, and in 2021 Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Psychiatry, Endocrinology and Surgery. In the group of consultations by other health professionals, in 2019 and 2020, the most requested services were: dentistry, nutrition and physiotherapy. And in 2021 Nutrition, physiotherapy and psychology. Regarding the group of exams, the ultrasound, radiological and clinical pathology exams were the most requested throughout the study period.Conclusion: It was concluded that the profile of ambulatory requests underwent changes during the study period, with changes in the frequency of certain requests, especially those related to mental health care, endocrinology and dentistry.
