Introduction: Prematurity is delivery that occurs before the 37th week of pregnancy. Brazil ranks 10th in the world in terms of premature births, around 1 million babies die each year from complications of premature birth and even those who survive may face developmental deficits. Mapping can be used as a tool to detect possible risks to pregnancies in certain regions, as it allows the identification of local environmental, socioeconomic, educational, health and cultural characteristics. Objectives: the objective is to carry out a mapping of risk factors associated with prematurity in premature children from 1 month to 6 years of age in Curitiba and the Metropolitan Region. Method: A cross-sectional observational research was carried out, with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data collection was performed by applying a sociodemographic questionnaire. To carry out the mapping, the Google My Maps® software was used, with the objective of adding the data of each participant and generating results from the geographical view of each one. Conclusion: It was possible to identify the presence of risk factors that influence prematurity. The use of the geographic tool has configured an essential instrument for geospatial observation and for proposing advances in public health.
