O Dragão Vermelho de Capacete Azul: China e a resolução de conflitos no Oriente Médio

A partir da década de 1990 o Oriente Médio passa a figurar no cálculo estratégico da China apresentando crescente importância geoeconômica e geoestratégica para o país. A instabilidade regional trazida pelos conflitos na região, entretanto, acaba por colocar em risco a grande estratégia chinesa. Nesse contexto, o objetivo deste artigo é compreender o papel da China no processo de resolução de conflitos no Oriente Médio. Acredita-se que o país tem papel importante no processo de resolução dos conflitos na região na medida em que vem gradualmente se colocando como importante provedor de bens públicos de segurança, como evidenciado na crescente contribuição chinesa para as operações de peacekeeping da ONU.
