Abstract

Are Mexico, Brazil and Argentina States responsible for the current success of Latin music? The present study carries out a descriptive and exploratory research regarding the dimensions of these institutions in the concept of soft power, seeking to verify the presence of the National States of the three largest cultural powers in Latin America in the Latin phonographic industry “boom”. The work analyzes elements such as public spending on culture, streaming data, the Ibero-American Cultural Charter, as well as national legislation. In conclusion, it is verified that the three nations have little participation in the mobilization of the sector, even though they value the cultural factor in their legal principles, highlighting the USA as the main funding nation of the Latin American phonographic industry.
