Organization Factors which Influence in the Health Workers Stress Level

Abstract

Stress phenomenon itself, is neither good nor bad. It can be an important and useful resource for man to deal with life’s daily situations. However, excessive stress has expanded
uninterruptedly and affects a growing number of people, with even more serious consequences each time, reaching diverse professional categories, and also, health workers. This study aims to identify the stress levels on health professionals, and the Psychosocial Factors of the Work Environment (PFWE), pointed as “stress causer agent’s”. The study encloses three analysis components: 1) stress prevalence levels; 2) stress causer agent’s survey; 3) workers exposition analyzes to PFWE and the potential association between these factors and the stress levels. It was observed that 65% of the individuals meet in the resistance and of exhaustion stress phases, and that the lack of work solidarity, organizational factors had, among others, presented statistically significant association with the
presence of stress. The evidences points to a necessity of adoption of measure direction to stress control, through actions that aim at, among others things, the improvement of the processes and adjustments in the organizational structure. The article is composed of four sections. The first section includes a synthesis of the used methodology and the second describes the results. The third section interprets the results of the research, while the final section contains conclusive notes.
