Abstract

The domestic employment and the care work developed last years is not due only to the increase of women’s work and the increase of elder people in the population of the industrialized countries, but it is also the result of the increase of contingent work and the impact of unemployment. This precariousness in not only due to internal processes of societies but also the result of « global chain of affect and assistance » referred by Cristina Carrasco and Arlie Hochschild. To analyze care work like a work done mostly by black and poor immigrant women, we will use the theory of intersectionality or consubstantiality, that affirms the interdependency of gender, race and class power relations.
